At one level, the stables seem a bit game-y. But they’re also one of many tools to make online slavery provoke real emotional reactions. Isn’t that most of findom? To make online connections real, with consequences, and more than mere roleplay.
I think that joining a stable is something that should happen after a good connection is made. I see a lot of new members join a stable almost immediately and then get overwhelmed and leave the site. The stable allows the Dom to see tip balance and read messages and for a sub can provide security... Or mean that other Doms will no longer approach. That works when there is a good connection but can be used as a tool for manipulation too. Phranklin and Alex make some pertinent points about Stable life. I'm not a huge fan of a Stable, largely because I don't feel I need it, but it works for many and that's perfect for them.
